Voter Fraud Reporting? There’s an App for That

Got hot pictures or videos from the polls this week? Now you have a place to send them to using an iPhone app.

It doesn’t matter if you voted red or blue, the online blog, ElectionJournal.org is encouraging voters and public citizens to send in their election poll videos, photos and commentary straight from their iPhones to its website using a free app – in turn encouraging citizens to keep a watchdog eye on election impropriety, as mentioned in a recent article entitled Voter Fraud: There’s an App for That!.

The free app, called iReport and being offered by on-again off-again blog ElectionJournal.org, allows users to send reports of potential voter fraud, along with photos and video, to the blog.

It was this very blog that in 2008 broke the story of two New Black Panther Party members standing outside a polling place in Philadelphia after a video of them was first uploaded to its site via a mobile interface.

“This is why we love the iPhone and its app store so much,” said Julien Sharp, Social Media Marketing Director for Smartsourcing Global. “ These apps provide power to the people in ways they never had before.”

Smartsourcing Global has developed several applications for the iPhone, including the latest GnarGnar game, as well as the Go2Tag that helps people organize their contacts the way they want to.

Apps are used across many platforms including social media sites like Facebook. They help you land your company’s name right in the palms of users. If you’re a company with an idea and a vision, and you want to reach the iPhone market, Smartsourcing can customize an app for your needs.

In case you are a politician with a dream reading this – there is no app to magically win an election. You’ll just have to win the voters’ hearts on that one.
