Logistics application launched in Beta for HESCO, Florida

HESCO is a cooperative operation specializing in procuring and distributing agricultural production materials in North America. HESCO hired Smartsourcing Global to reengineer its Trailer Tracker application, a logistics solution designed to improve the efficiency of their supply chain through on-demand delivery and tracking of trailer-sized loads. The current version was unwieldy, inefficient and lacked logical navigation and clear communication of its purpose. SSG developed the Trailer Tracker application on Java/J2EE platform. Our role involved analyzing requirements, recommending features, designing technical architecture and database, implementation, QA testing, formulating deployment and hosting strategy. Now Trailer Tracker is easy to use for both internal staff, customers and vendors, and provides a more efficient tool for all participants. The application is in Beta phase and will be live in May 2009.

New client signed for development of ecommerce application

Just4Kicks is an online store for custom branded soccer related items. The application lists products under various categories. Purchasers can view the details of the products, add items to their shopping carts, and check out using a secure Paypal gateway. The application supports sales tax and shipping costs as well. Smartsourcing Global is hired for end to end development of the site and its ecommerce functions, including requirements analysis, features recommendation, designing wireframes, graphic design, technology choice, implementation, testing, deployment and special support for SEO and product image enhancements. This online store will be live in Q2 2009.

MomsWorld becomes a twitter application

March 15, 2009

With increasing popularity and viral nature of Twitter, we decided to reach out to moms, the target audience of MomsWorld through twitter. Members would now login to MomsWorld.com using their twitter credentials. This is a step towards integrating the platform with other social networks. MomsWorld is all about question and choice of answers with small comments, so it fits very well with the twitter application. Since there are many twitter applications like tweetdeck, twitterific and many more which helps busy mothers to tweet often and keep connected. MomsWorld is quickly attracting followers on twitter and 25% of the followers have become the members.

Exploring into Logistics vertical

Smartsourcing Global signed a deal with a Florida based logistics company. We will be helping them to automate one of their business processes as a part of an ongoing relationship.

Currently, the client has some solution in place but were dissatisfied with the solution as it was incomplete and didn’t meet their day to day requirements. Our team intends to study the business needs in depth and design a extensible solution. The vision behind developing the solution is to resolve all the current the issues and extend this solution into Software as Service solution for the use of many other companies. The solution will be built with open source technologies including Java, J2EE suite.

Smartsourcing Global partnered with Life180, Inc. for product development of their “Healthy Lifestyle” program

Smartsourcing Global partnered with Life180, Inc. for a new product development. Life180 has created a science-based, healthy lifestyle program that helps various age groups achieve their health related goals. The product includes subscription and community features. Rob de Baun, COO at Life180 will be working closely with Smartsourcing Global on development efforts.

The partnership is based on Onshore-offshore model. Smartsourcing Global will be providing onshore CTO and onshore project management support and an offshore development team based in Pune, India. The first release of the product is scheduled before end of year 2008.

The development involves Rails platform with support for future high traffic scalability and internationalization requirements. This partnership gives Smartsourcing Global another opportunity towards its vision “Value addition and innovation through globalization”. Smartsourcing Global will be accountable for the technology decisions, architecture and end to end software development and testing of the product.

Smartsourcing Global expands its partnership with MomsWorld – MomsWorld offers stake in partnership

Smartsourcing Global partnered with MomsWorld last year for their product development requirements. The relationship started with technology support from Smartsourcing Global for MomsWorld’s product development. This relationship has further grown into true partnership re-emphasizing concept of Smartsourcing (By Thomas Koulopous).

With enhanced relationship with MomsWorld, Smartsourcing Global will have stake in the company, details not be disclosed based on mutual agreement.

This strategic and trust based partnership will allow both companies to achieve common goal of growth and excellence. Smartsourcing Global will continue developing future phases of MomsWorld and will have opportunity to help add to bottom line of MomsWorld.

Smartsourcing Global expanding office space, preparing expansion for Q1 and Q2 2008

Smartsourcing Global is continuing to prepare for more expansion in Q1 and Q2 2008 and has leased office space adjacent to the main offshore development center in Pune.

The company had 100% growth every month during last 10 months since February 2007 and envisions 60% growth in headcounts during first two quarters of 2008.

Smartsourcing Global signed another client TechSmart Group, Inc. NY, for their ongoing software development requirements. TechSmart partnered with Smartsourcing Global knowing the ability of Smartsourcing Global to deliver in agile environment and expertise in having 100% control over distributed development and offshore development effectiveness. The development at this time will be on J2EE platform.

TechSmart Solutions Group is a boutique Information Technology consulting firm specializing in web 2.0 development solutions and application security services. Their service offerings are geared towards helping our customers securely perform business online, whether that business is directly with their customers or integrated at the back-end with their suppliers and partners.

We signed UGENmedia Inc. for their ongoing software development requirements. Both the companies look forward to long term relationship. This deal enables Smartsourcing Global to contribute to fast growing company with latest web technologies like Ruby on Rails, CSS2, Flash AS3 and Flex.
