Captain Morgan is the producer of world famous rum. As a charitable giving effort, the company created the “Pose for a Purpose” campaign, and needed a company to develop a Facebook application that allowed participants to upload their photo striking a pose like the Captain.

Smartsourcing Global was chosen for its ability to develop soup-to-nuts, unique functionality that included: allowing participants to upload of through a web cam, a gallery view that included different content displays (Carousel, map Mosaic), as well as image editing tools to crop, blur, and resize photo elements.

In implementing this application, the SSG team used a combination of Ruby on Rails, FLEX, Flash, CSS2, advanced JavaScript open source libraries, Linux platform, and MYSQL database.
